We Are Family Movie Review

Some films are good to look at. Some feel good at heart. Very few mainstream films manage to look as good on the surface and also capture the heart. ‘We Are Family’ is equally appealing from the outside and at the heart.
It doesn’t take us long into the narration to realize that the debutant director has his own ideas on how urban man-woman relationships work. Siddharth Malhotra brings the traditional compassion and large-heartedness of Sooraj Barjatya’s films into the same line of vision as the urban fables about the man-woman relationship of Gulzar’s ‘Ijaazat’ and Govind Nihalani’s ‘Drishti’. The brew is invigorating and often very very moving in the way movies stopped moving us a long time ago.
The characters live in Australia, yet constantly speak impeccable Hindi. It’s a spooky world where little girls are gifted tiaras and wands, and the boys (wearing glasses, naturally) are presented books and telescopes. The demarcation is clear; and the story cements itself as an old-fashioned, sexist one.
We see divorced couple Aman (Arjun Rampal, half-awake) and Maya (Kajol) at their child’s school annual day. Their little girl Anjali (cute as a biutton, Diya Sonecha), in the middle of the act on stage, spots her mom in the audience and says ‘Mama, hiii!’. It’s a touching moment, and the film has a few more.
The rest of the film is remarkably devoid of extravagant emotions even though the situation described and defined by the plot is susceptible to acute bouts of overt emotion. Having three actors who know how to play down the pitch without taking away the edge in the narration surely helps the situation.
Kajol needs absolutely no recommendation. Her transformation from physically healthy but restless in soul, to a dying but spiritually healed entity happens right in front of our eyes. The little-little things she does with her eyes and lips just rips a hole in our soul. Yup, she is one of our all-time greats – without trying. The moments when she watches Shreya (Kareena) take charge of her children and husband find Kajol expressing a mixture of envy and resignation the way only she can.
But it is Kareena Kapoor who is an utter revelation. Never before has she demonstrated such a complete understanding of her character’s inner life. To the role of Kajol’s husband’s girlfriend Kareena brings a rare and reined-in passion. Everything that she has done so far on screen is undone as Kareena redefines the role of the Other Woman in Hindi cinema.
The Kareena-Kajol combo is explosive, and the high-point of the film. Their altercations are delicious; one wishes there were more such complexities instead of the syrupy gloop. You care about Maya’s character in the first place (the only character that really makes an impact) because no one can exude a warmth, and smile as expressively, emotionally, widely, and honestly as Kajol. Kareena’s character is a bit wobbly with inconsistencies. But the actress is in full form, brimming with fire. Arjun Rampal gives a damp performance.
At the end, when Siddharth Malhotra has taken the family fable beyond ‘Stepmom’, you suddenly realize it’s been a while since we saw a film about Man abercrombie and fitch , Wife and Other Woman tackle the layers of painful separation and reconciliation with such fluency and care.
Many people find Bhagra songs more entertaining than Hindi songs but Remix songs are also quite popular nowdays.

How I can become a perfect DJ

With 5 years of my experience as a leading DJ abercrombie , I am sharing with you my DJ and music business secrets that will help you become more successful with your DJ music and career.
If you like listening to music, updating up with the latest music trends, and playing pre-recorded music before a live audience, becoming a professional DJ may be the perfect for you. However, DJ involves much more than just simply playing records, CDs or MP3s for a group. You must learn how to effectively use DJ equipment and master the skill of seamlessly transitioning from one song to the next. You should be able to keep your crowd engaged, entertained, and most importantly, dancing.
Its also important to learn and understand how to control DJ equipment. This could be learning how to use vinyl turntables, CD players, laptop software & other. These are the popular ways to perform your music. DJ equipment can be expensive, if you haven’t done any DJ before, it’s a good idea try it out and get some practice before spending more of dollars on your own equipment. If you have a friend or relatives with DJ equipment, ask if you can practice using his equipment. You may also be able to use the equipment at a local bar or club during off hours if you have a good rapport with the owner or manager. Or you can also find this from other source whatever you know.
If you have access to equipment, practice as much as you can. The players and mixer will have several different functions, such as cross-faders, gain, volume, pitch, and so forth. Practice playing around with the different controls to experience what they are doing and learn how to manipulating them to get different effects. Practice switching back and forth or fifth between songs and alternating between your two players since this is arguably the most important skill a DJ must possess. Deliberately make mistakes so that when you make errors during a live performance, you are more likely to know how to fix the problem.
Consider your own free party or DJ at a friend’s house. In that way, you will be able to practice your skills in front of a sympathetic audience. So you will likely be less nervous than if you were DJ for a large group of audience. Also, since you aren’t getting paid you’ll have nothing to lose if you make any mistakes. After your set, ask friends for feedback, find out yourself what the attendees did and didn’t enjoy and use this information to perfect your style and technique. Once you have caught the basic skills, you may be able to practice your skills at a small local radio station or college show.
Its important for you as a DJ to develop your own personal style of music. This way when people come to see your show they will have a good Idea about what sort of music you play! Your aim is to entertain a crowd with the right music. You want to appeal to a certain niche of music lovers. Once you master this you will be know as the DJ who plays, rock, soul, hip hop, house or whatever music you perform to a crowd.
Once you feel you’re now ready to DJ professionally, go out and promote yourself. It’s a good idea to create a website with basic information about you and your skill where people can go to find out more about you if they are interested. Also print some leaflets and some business card that you can distribute to interested parties in your local. If you’re interested for DJ at clubs, visit clubs in your area and introduce yourself to the manager or owner. It’s possible that you may if find a club that happens to be in need of a DJ, but, if not, be sure to leave a good impression and a business card behind so they can contact you if they will need DJ in the future. If you live in a big city or locality, it may also be possible to forge an affiliation with a management or booking agency that will help you find program, although you may have to pay a registration fee. The program that I currently use to remove duplicate songs from iTunes is called Tidysongs. It has a great reputation and I had no trouble finding plenty of reviews and tutorials as well as screenshots and videos on the software. The process of removing the copies of songs goes something like this:

Not Another Guitar Riff satisfy!

While lessons a guitar seminar the other day I realized that there is an huge dump in the way music is qualified these years. You can view extra details here The learner was live a guitar riff from paradise that he had educated from a lonely. When he perfect I asked him if he knew more of the song other than just the opening. He said that it was all his lonely knew but that he could also horseplay a bunch of riffs from other tunes. This, to me is a chief hindrance.
Music lessons will typically sacrifice between $40 and $60 per our depending on the intensity of sacrament provided by the train. As a father myself I suppose in accountability. If I am paying good money for music lessons I demand my infant to learn how to horseplay to the best of his/her ability. As a music educator I know that there is greatly more profit in knowledge full songs from plus to stop using all the parts, plus the rhythm and principal defenses. Almost any kid can find a guitar tab on the Internet and shape out the first few chords. There is no meaning paying superstar to do that for them. If, and when they get an opportunity to horseplay in a ensemble it won’t do them any good to be able to horseplay the first 10 seconds of the song just to delay the ensemble lynching.
So, when your deciding on, or deciding to resume using a guitar educator prefer make surely that your money (and time) is not waisted on “just another guitar riff” class of educator.

Taiwan Saxophone Industry

While many know the reputation Taiwan has in the manufacturing of high-tech electrical components, few may know of the growing saxophone business based in Houli. Long known as the music capital of Taiwan, Houli is located in a rural township in northwestern Taichung County. This area is also known for sugar cane, soybean, grapes, wine, and iron plants. While the population of Houli is about 50,000, it produces an amazing 40,000 saxophones a year.
The Taiwan saxophone industry dates back to just after World War II when Chang Lien-Cheng, a farmer’s son that abandoned the family land to become a painter and musician, created an organized Jazz Band in 1945. Their performances throughout Taiwan were widely acclaimed until the area suffered a great fire and the only saxophone of the band was so seriously damaged that it could not be played any longer. Chang began by making an accurate drawing of the saxophone which contained about 400 components. He then started to transform the drawing into a real saxophone. After 3½ years, the first handmade Taiwan saxophone was made. Due to its very good quality, people all over Taiwan began to be captivated by the saxophone. Until Chang’s death several years ago, he trained a number of apprentices, and in the process, launched a lucrative export industry. By the 1980s, Taiwan was churning out so many saxes under contract to labels in the United States and Europe, the government estimates that one out of every three saxophones in the world was made in Taiwan. Later, mainland China began ramping up its saxophone assembly lines, but these instruments were of a much lower quality. Despite the quality issues, the orders in Taiwan dwindled virtually overnight to a fraction of what they had been. During this time, about half of Houli’s workshops went out of business.
Today, the surviving manufacturers are fighting back. Their strategy is to stake out a middle ground between the top brands like Selmer and Yamaha and the low quality mainland Chinese instruments. While the work of making saxophones is slow and methodical, the owner of Lien Cheng Saxophones clearly feels a sense of urgency … “Our quality is improving, but if Taiwanese companies don’t move quick, they will be left behind.” said Chang Tsung Yao. The Taiwanese government and the private sector are furiously investing in research and development, quality control, and marketing. Taiwan’s branding efforts are starting to pay off. Once limited to the inferior ‘student’ market, Taiwanese firms are now making high-grade saxophones for the famous European and American labels.
While some players may have perceptions regarding the quality of these saxophones, those that have tried them … those that actually play test brands and models side-by-side with others … are quickly learning some of these saxophones coming out of Houli are every bit as good as the big name instruments that cost 2-3 times more!

Fan Based Marketing For Independent Bands

Being an independent musician has its ups and downs. The obvious down part is where most of the time, indie musicians feel handicapped in that they don’t have the power of the big distribution companies to help them sell their CDs. For indie bands, selling products after successfully producing your own CDs in a CD production company that gives you a good price on a quality printing, is the hardest part. To do it all alone is possible, but let us warn you, it’s bound to be exhausting.
One of the ups of being an indie band is, you have some loyal fans who want you to succeed. If you know how to do it right, you can have your fans actually help you sell your CDs. Don’t be too literal and recruit your fans to be salesmen, but have them spread the words about you, and this is something they will do naturally if they are excited about your band. Word-of-mouth is the generally the best form of advertising, and your fans are one of your best resources. The key is to channel that momentum into generating a buzz about your record. Here are a couple of ways you can do this.
STREET TEAMS
Street teams consist of fans who are willing to promote your band in a number of ways in return for perks like free merchandise, admission to concerts, etc. Gather your street team through email lists or your website and such. Because the street team’s bound to be working for free, be extra clear about what you’ll offer for their help. Don’t try to get your street team to sell the CDs directly—after all, they aren’t a sales team. Rather, just have your street team create a buzz about the band itself, try to encourage their friends to attend shows, or point people to a website where your CDs are available for purchase.
SOCIAL NETWORKING
These days, almost everybody are into social networking, including these fans of yours. If you can connect with them on places like Facebook and Twitter, you can use this to your advantage. Put interesting information, YouTube videos, and fun stuff online (along with mentions of your CD for sale), because your fans are more likely to spread the word by Facebook and Twitter to their own circles of friends. Be a friendly artist because it’s okay to occasionally ask your fans to share about your CD specifically. Don’t be overly aggressive with sales here; just interact naturally with your fans, and they’ll spread the word about you, and you know what that means… kah-ching!
Don’t be too greedy about gaining fans and growing fan base, because it’s better to have fan loyalty to get exposure for your band.
